One-on-One Instructional Assistant – Junior High SLC
2025–2026 School Year
The Dayton School District is seeking a caring and dedicated One-on-One Instructional Assistant to support a student in the Junior High School Structured Learning Center (SLC). This position provides individualized support to ensure academic, social, and behavioral success in a safe, inclusive, and positive environment.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Paraprofessional exam or associate’s degree (or equivalent amount of college credit)
Experience working with special needs students at the K–12 level
Bilingual English/Spanish preferred but not required
Experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting preferred
Ability to provide one-on-one academic and behavioral support under teacher direction
Patience, flexibility, and strong interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students
Ability to remain calm and supportive in challenging situations
Willingness to assist with personal care needs as required
Compensation:
The Dayton Classified Collective Bargaining Agreement outlines an annual eleven-step classified salary schedule ranging from $18.13 – $26.83 per hour. Please refer to the salary schedule on the District website.
Experience credit is available for new employees with prior experience in the same classification.
