Position Overview
MCS is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Physical Education and Health Teacher to provide engaging instruction for kindergarten through eighth-grade students. The ideal candidate will inspire students to develop lifelong fitness habits, positive social skills, and personal responsibility for health and well-being.

Responsibilities
Plan and deliver standards-based PE and health lessons for grades K–8.
Foster a safe, inclusive, and positive environment for all students.
Design developmentally appropriate activities that promote physical literacy, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
Incorporate health and wellness topics such as nutrition, personal safety, mental health, and physical fitness.
Collaborate with classroom teachers and support staff to integrate health and movement into the broader school program.
Support school wide events such as field days, community fundraisers, and student wellness initiatives.
Maintain accurate student records and assessments aligned to Oregon standards.

Qualifications:
Oregon Teaching License with PE/Health endorsement (or eligibility to obtain one).
Experience teaching elementary and/or middle school students preferred.
Bi-lingual speaker (Spanish) is desired.
Strong classroom management and communication skills.
Commitment to inclusion, equity, and culturally responsive practices.
Ability to create engaging, hands-on lessons that meet diverse student needs.

Preferred Skills:
Experience with outdoor education or adventure-based activities.
Knowledge of trauma-informed and SEL (social-emotional learning) practices.
Interest in collaborating on place-based, interdisciplinary projects.
