The Churchill County School District (CCSD) Board of Trustees seeks an experienced, collaborative, and student-centered educational leader to serve as Superintendent. The Superintendent serves as the chief executive officer of the District and is responsible for providing visionary leadership, ensuring high-quality instruction, managing district operations, and advancing the mission, vision, and beliefs of Churchill County School District.
Located in Fallon, Nevada—known as the “Oasis of Nevada”—Churchill County School District serves students from early childhood through high school across one Early Childhood Education Center, three elementary schools, one middle school, and one comprehensive high school. The District benefits from strong community support, close partnerships with families, and a unique connection to Naval Air Station Fallon, which contributes to the diversity and stability of the community.
The Superintendent works collaboratively with the Board of Trustees to set strategic direction and ensure effective governance, while leading staff and engaging the community to promote academic excellence, operational effectiveness, and long-term district sustainability. The Superintendent is expected to be a visible presence in schools and the community and to serve as a strong advocate for Churchill County School District at the local, regional, and state levels.
The Superintendent position offers a competitive annual salary range of $175,000 to $185,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience. In addition to salary, the District provides a comprehensive and competitive benefits package. Nevada does not have a state income tax, enhancing overall take-home compensation. The District will also make employer contributions on behalf of the Superintendent to the Nevada Public Employees’ Retirement System (PERS), providing long-term retirement security.
Qualified candidates must: 1) Hold, or be eligible to hold, a Nevada school administrative license with authorization to serve as Superintendent, 2) Possess a master’s degree in education or a related field, or equivalent qualifications, 3) Have a minimum of five (5) years of school or district-level administrative experience, such as service as a principal, assistant principal, central office administrator, or comparable leadership role, 4) Be willing to reside in Churchill County within six (6) months of accepting the position.
