Magnificent Central Oregon leadership opportunity. Small-town feel, endless horizons.
Enrollment: 650 students
Rooted in the heart of Oregon’s high desert, Culver School District offers an exceptional opportunity for a superintendent ready to lead a district where relationships matter and schools are truly the center of community life. Located in spectacular Central Oregon, just a short drive from Bend, Madras, and Redmond, Culver blends small-town values with access to the energy, innovation, and opportunity of the region. With a single K–12 campus serving 650 students, Culver fosters a close-knit culture where educators know every student by name, and small class sizes support personalized learning and student success. The next superintendent will guide a district that honors its rural roots and traditions while embracing thoughtful growth and continuous improvement. Culver School District takes pride in its small-town feel. Nimble, responsive, creative, and flexible—are words frequently used by district employees and community members to describe the district, enabling it to pivot quickly when challenges arise. The district champions robust postsecondary pathways, including strong CTE programs and college partnerships that provide dual credit opportunities and bring college coursework directly to high school students. Boasting supportive families and community, strong Board governance, exceptional school-based administrative leadership, and effective educators and staff committed to do “whatever it takes” to ensure all students are prepared for a future of their choosing, Culver School District is a special place.
Life beyond the school campus is equally inspiring. Central Oregon is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts—offering world-class skiing at Mount Bachelor, fly fishing and rafting along the Deschutes River, hiking and climbing at Smith Rock State Park, and year-round cycling beneath expansive Cascade Mountain views. The raw beauty of the high desert—golden fields, sagebrush plains, brilliant sunsets, and vast star-filled skies—mirrors Culver’s character: hopeful, grounded, and proud. For a superintendent seeking both meaningful educational leadership and an extraordinary quality of life, Culver School District offers the rare chance to lead in a rural yet growing community where values run deep and opportunity stretches as wide as the Central Oregon horizon.
