Rate of Pay: $138,092-$160,255, DOE

Insurance: Generous Health, dental, and vision contribution from the district, currently up to $2330 (based upon family coverage).

PERS Retirement: The district assumes and pays the 6% average employee contribution to the Oregon PERS system.

Retiree Benefits: An administrator who retires from KFCS and from PERS, with at least ten consecutive years of experience as an administrator in the district immediately prior to retirement, will receive the following retirement benefits:

One percent (1%) of the administrator's final base salary per month for a total of eight-four (84) months.

AND Medical insurance premiums for the administrator and spouse (if necessary) for a total of eighty-four (84) months. When an administrator retires, the District will contribute up to the employee only cap or the employee-spouse cap. Should the district contribution be insufficient to pay for the monthly cost of the insurance, then the parties agree that the excess insurance premium contribution will be made by the retiree.

Position Description

Klamath Falls City Schools is seeking an exceptional instructional leader to serve as the next Principal of Ponderosa Middle School.

Ponderosa Middle School serves approximately 550 students in grades 6–8 and is entering an exciting new chapter focused on transformative improvements in teaching and learning. The next principal will have a unique opportunity to lead a comprehensive effort to strengthen classroom instruction, support teacher growth, and ensure every student experiences engaging, rigorous learning every day.

The successful candidate will be a hands-on instructional leader who spends significant time in classrooms supporting teachers and students. This principal will work collaboratively with district leadership and school staff to build systems that prioritize instructional excellence, high expectations for behavior and learning, and measurable academic growth.

The successful candidate will be energized by the opportunity to lead a schoolwide effort focused on strengthening classroom instruction through frequent observation, teacher coaching, and collaborative professional learning.

Experience
At least five (5) years of successful teaching experience in a K–12 public school setting.
Evidence of successful leadership experience in a school setting.
Demonstrated experience improving teaching and learning outcomes.

Education
Master’s Degree in Education or a closely related field.

Licensure
Possess a valid Oregon TSPC Administrative License authorizing service as a middle school principal.
