Salem-Keizer Public Schools (SKPS) - a district long recognized for excellence in music education - envisions every student, every teacher, and every school succeeding. We are actively seeking talented leaders who are driven to provide high quality experiences to all students.

Ours is the second-largest school district in Oregon, serving 42,000 students in Oregon's Mid-Willamette Valley. The school district encompasses the cities of Salem and Keizer, a combined community of 210,000 that is home to a variety of arts organizations.

The SKPS Music and Drama program has benefited from decades of highly-skilled supervisors and widespread community support. Though success in competition is not the purpose of our program, it is an indicator of pedagogical skill and program coherence. Thus, we are proud to note that SKPS students have earned more state championships in ensemble performance than all other Oregon districts combined. Our program coherence can be attributed to our efforts to attract excellent pedagogues, our model of staffing vertically to ensure teachers are instructing within their area of specialty, and the collaborative opportunities we provide staff. More information is available on our program website, including performance samplings, information about our faculty, and program-related news.

Master's degree, or equivalent training in curriculum, instruction, and leadership in music.
Ten years of successful classroom teaching and demonstrated leadership.

Outstanding musical achievement and skill as a master teacher.
Effectiveness in evaluating music performance and instruction at all levels.
