ELEMENTARY PRINCIPAL - Westside Elementary School
General Position Overview:
The school Principal serves as the educational leader responsible for development, implementation, supervision, and evaluation of a comprehensive program of educational and student services. Administers the program in accordance with board policies, statutory requirements, administrative rules and regulations, District leadership direction, and consistent with collective bargaining agreements. The school Principal will work to ensure that all students are supervised in a safe learning environment that meets the approved curricula and mission of the school and Hood River County School District - promoting the educational development of all students to reach their fullest potential. Achieving academic excellence requires that the school Principal work collaboratively to direct and nurture all members of the school staff hired by the Board of Directors and to communicate effectively with parents and the community. Inherent in the position are the responsibilities for scheduling, curriculum development, extracurricular activities, personnel management, emergency procedures, and facility operations. Use of independent judgement and decision making is required in matters not having established rules, regulations, or policies.
