The Lighthouse School in Coos Bay, Oregon, is looking for a TSPC Licensed Administrator to be our school Director. The Lighthouse School is a Waldorf inspired K-8 public charter school, funded by both public State School Funds and private donations.
The Director should demonstrate preparation and skill in working with students from diverse cultural, economic and ability backgrounds. They should be able to plan, organize and implement an appropriate instructional program in an elementary or secondary learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential. Under the direction of the Board, the Director will serve the school in 3 key roles; Superintendent, Principal, & Vice Principal.
The Director is, in essence, the CEO of the Charter School. Alongside the Board, they will set the tone and chart the course of the school. The Director is the key leader at the school. The Director is responsible for supervising the other administrators in the school, including the chief financial officer. The Director is the person held responsible below the Board of Director’s for financial management of the Budget. They must consider how to allocate the financial and human resources of the school in order to achieve the best results, while being mindful of all the competing demands. The Director also works closely with the Curriculum Coordinator, making both daily and long term decisions regarding the school, and the goals of the board. It is the Board’s expectation that the Director will uphold the schools’ mission and philosophies, to ensure continuity of service to our students, parents and staff.
