We are seeking a 4th grade teacher who is passionate about conducting fieldwork, building community partnerships and writing innovative, science centered place-based curriculum. Students regularly leave school to use the environment and surrounding area as a classroom. The ideal candidate will have experience with both classroom teaching and outdoor environmental and science education. It is essential that our teachers have strong classroom management skills and are excited to work with a small, collaborative staff and school community.

The mission of Springwater Environmental Sciences School is to integrate the sciences throughout the academic core curriculum in a nurturing environment created and maintained by a high level of parent and community involvement. The philosophy of Springwater Environmental Sciences School is that the sciences are conducive to powerful learning, and that increasing the presence of hands-on experiences with “real World” science in all subjects will increase motivation, relevance, and achievement for our students, as well as foster children’s natural curiosity in the world around them.

Knowledge of best practices in teaching;
Experience in differentiation and inclusion for student with special needs;
Masters Degree preferred;
Oregon teaching license in assigned area(s) and proper endorsements
Compensation: Base salary range ($42,152-$68,6867) paid over 12 months with benefits (staff development funds, health/vision/dental insurance & PERS (when eligible)
