Job Title: 1.0 FTE School Counselor

Description: The Village School, K-8 public charter school, seeks a Full Time School Counselor for 2020-21 School Year.

 Valid Oregon license in School Psychology, Counseling, or Social Work
 Demonstrated ability and commitment to practice cultural competency, respect diversity, and interact with children and adults in a positive manner
 Experience with
o Behavior management systems based on restorative practices
o Working collaboratively with general and special education teaching staff
o Helping students develop skills in the areas of decision-making, interpersonal relations, personal responsibility, self-knowledge and community engagement.
o Developing strategies to assist students and their families, including referral processes to specialists and outside agencies.
o Conducting functional behavioral assessments, developing function-based behavioral support plans, and comprehensive educational and psychological evaluations
 Ability to work effectively with staff and parents to improve student engagement in school activities
 Strong verbal and written communication skills
 Commitment to arts-integrated education and familiarity with Waldorf education
 Willingness to get CPR training, and ability to lift and carry 40 lbs

Salary Range: Salary $40,000-$60,000 depending on experience. Additional variable compensation included. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, disability, PERS and defined contribution pension, and lunch from our healthy kitchen (when in service).
