COSA cancels 2020 ELA Conference

MARCH 11: COSA has canceled the English Learners Alliance Conference scheduled to take place in Eugene on March 12 and 13. Governor Kate Brown will soon “announce new steps to stem the spread of the coronavirus in Oregon, addressing mass gatherings, social distancing, workplace practices, and other community-wide mitigation efforts to help slow the transmission of the coronavirus.”

COSA anticipates that the Governor will announce additional guidance that may impact all public schools and public and private gatherings, including conferences.  COSA is committed to following the direction of Oregon’s public health authorities, including guidance from the Governor, OHA, and ODE, and as a proactive measure we will be cancelling the English Learners Alliance Conference currently underway at the Graduate Hotel in Eugene, effective immediately. COSA wishes to thank attendees, presenters, vendors, and all COSA members for your understanding and patience as we process and work through all of the issues that this action entails.  Your patience and support as we work through this situation is greatly appreciated.
