OALA announces application process for 2017-18 aspiring leaders cohort

The Oregon Association of Latino Administrators (OALA) is proud to announce the opening of the application process for the 2017-18 Aspiring Administrator Leadership Mentor Program.

In our first cohort, 80% of the proteges are either an administrator or teacher on special assignment.  We are also in need of Latino mentors that are current or retired administrators who will support our third cohort.

The leadership program is the first of its kind in Oregon.  With our  partners, Coalition of Oregon School Administrators and Portland State University we focus on preparing the next generation of Latino administrators with the skills necessary to be an effective leader.

Protégé's are selected for the program based on their leadership potential and their commitment to raising the level of student achievement for the districts they serve.

The year long program covers: leadership development, best practices for equity and systemic reform, social justice and leadership, strategic planning, and administration preparation.
