Tualatin High’s Brooke Mayo Named Finalist for National Award
Brooke Mayo, associate principal at Tualatin High School in the Tigard-Tualatin School District, has been named one of three finalists for the 2026 High School National Assistant Principal of the Year by the National Association of Secondary School Principals.
Mayo previously earned the distinction of Oregon Assistant Principal of the Year and is recognized for her equity-centered leadership and her commitment to building a school culture where all students feel supported and valued—particularly LGBTQIA+ students. Since joining Tualatin High in 2022, Mayo has been praised by colleagues for leading with both courage and care while navigating complex challenges and strengthening systems that support student success.
The national recipient will be announced April 17 at the National Education Leadership Awards in Washington, D.C.
