Home-to School Liaison - Title I
$2500 hiring bonus pro-rated based upon start date & hrs. and payable over 12 months

Position:
• This position will prioritize both student instructional and family advocacy supports for identified families and students with an emphasis for identified Title VI students and families

Responsibilities:
• Reach out to families around the available supports and services within the Title VI Indian Education program
• Connect and communicate with families regularly to foster and nurture positive relationships and provide family supports of our Title VI Indian Education students.
• Foster and nurture the regular attendance of students to improve academic successes of students.
• Assist and support students both during classroom instruction and closely monitor student progress providing academic supports and assistance (including tutorial) as needed.
• Advocate and promote student accomplishments to boost and foster confidence and self- esteem among students.
• Team with a variety of groups and partners to coordinate cultural activities and events (during and/or afterschool).
• Work collaboratively with building leadership, building support teams, and classroom teachers to facilitate and provide services and supports.
• Maintain professional relationships with students, families, co-workers, and community partners.
• Compile and collect a variety of information; verify data for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with established procedures.
• Prepare and maintain a variety of records, logs and files including information of a confidential nature; maintain the confidentiality of student and staff information and records.
• To support instructional math and reading interventions:

Under the direction of the classroom teacher, Title I Specialist and Title I Supervisor assist students with instructional material;
Under the direction of the classroom teacher, Title I Specialist and Title I Supervisor, work with small groups of students to reinforce students’ classroom program;
Clerical and record keeping tasks necessary to support the Title I Program;
Assist with student supervision and duties as assigned;
Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
• High school diploma/equivalent;
• Must be considered highly qualified by the Oregon Department of Education (Associate’s
Degree or pass paraprofessional skills testing prior to employment);
• Experience working with children and families;
• Must have good human relation skills and be able to communicate well with others;
• Ability to multi-task and be flexible to meet the varying needs of families, students, and staff.
• Able to work a schedule with varied start and end times (and be flexible to support afterschool activities and events as necessary)
• Willing to attend professional development opportunities to ensure continuous learning
• Superb organization skills in collecting and organizing data
• Proficient with electronic communication, Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Google Calendar, Google Docs, Google Sheets; and be comfortable with student database software as well as general office equipment operation (phones, fax, copier, etc.)
• Must have the ability and willingness to learn a wide variety of tasks

Must provide proof of COVID Vaccination
The employee is expected to be dressed and groomed in a neat, clean and appropriate
professional manner for the assignment and work setting.

Salary:
$16.76 per hour

Schedule:
Daily Schedule: 5 hours daily/186 days per year (to be prorated to reflect actual start date)
