We are seeking a Data and Research Manager to join our Educator Advancement Council at the Oregon Department of Education.

This role is a hybrid of remote work and will need to report to office when business or operational needs are dependent on onsite activities. Remote work is embraced to the fullest extent possible without interfering with business.

What you will do!

As our Data and Research Manager position, you will lead the planning, design, and implementation of evaluation of EAC initiatives and legislatively required EAC research and reporting. You will also lead collaboration with EAC’s state, tribal, and local education agency partners to:

plan and implement research studies to identify successful practices that can be scaled across the state by academic priority and initiative,
design, implement, and coordinate the monitoring and reporting data system that tracks personalized education plans of educators across the career continuum, and
direct the publication of a variety of reports by policy, program, initiative and academic priority that communicates capacity of education stakeholders by region.

Minimum Qualifications (Need to have):

A Bachelor's Degree in any discipline that included six-quarter units in statistics or quantitative analysis methods and procedures, and one year experience using computerized applications to independently gather, compile, and analyze data and prepare narrative or statistical reports; OR four years of research experience using computerized applications to independently gather, compile, and analyze data and prepare narrative or statistical reports.

Candidates who are the most competitive will possess a compelling combination of the following background, skills, and experience:

Considerable knowledge and understanding of research methods.
Specific research in education studies, program evaluations, and outcome studies is preferred.
Quantitative and qualitative problem-solving ability.
Ability to organize and present research findings and information clearly and concisely in verbal and written form.
Strong comprehensive writing skills, including the ability to write technical narrative and statistical reports including creating graphs, charts, and tables for reports.
Ability to create data reports and presentations that are suitable to internal and external audiences, using a variety of tools.
Ability to recommend action based on findings.

*Salary Range: The range listed is the non-PERS salary range. Public Employee Retirement System (PERS) participating members will have their base salary increased by 6.95% and pay a 6% employee contribution to PERS.
