The Assistant Administrator for Special Education is a key leader within the Special Education Department, operating as both a support to the Administrator for Special Education and as a manager of programs within the Department. The incumbent operates within a collaborative leadership model with significant authority and accountability, under the direction of the Administrator for Special Education. The incumbent supervises programs and the employees who work within such programs, and monitors accountability for large numbers of employees at multiple sites to ensure compliance and educational progress across the District. The incumbent serves as a resource to parents and students who may require help with complex educational problems related to Special Education services.
