PAY: $138,000-$150,000 Salary
Job Purpose:
The High School Principal serves as the instructional and operational leader of the school, guiding the school community towards academic excellence and student success. This role is focused on preparing all students to become future-ready, promoting a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment. The principal leads staff in alignment with district priorities, fosters a culture of collaboration through teams, such as Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) and the School Leadership Team (SLT), and ensures the effective implementation of high-quality programs. This position requires a visionary, student-centered leader who utilizes good judgment and champions an environment of belonging.
Minimum Qualifications:
Master’s Degree from an accredited institution
Valid Oregon Administrative License issued by TSPC
At least five (5) years of successful teaching experience, preferably at the secondary level
Minimum of three (3) years of administrative or formal leadership experience
Valid Oregon Driver’s License
Current First Aid/CPR certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)
Preferred Qualifications:
Bilingual and bicultural competencies
Experience with PLCs, AVID implementation, and leading school improvement initiatives
Demonstrated success working with diverse student populations
Essential Responsibilities:
Instructional Leadership
Serve as the school’s instructional leader, modelling best practices aligned with Oregon state standards
Ensure rigorous, well-articulated learning experiences, including Career and Technical Education (CTE) pathways and Advanced Placement (AP) courses
Lead data-informed decision-making processes to improve student skill growth and academic achievement
Promote highly effective instructional practices that close student opportunity and achievement gaps across all student groups
Oversee implementation and fidelity of PLCs, AVID, and other district-supported programs
Staff Supervision and Development
Recruit, hire, assign, supervise, and evaluate licensed, classified, and administrative staff
Support professional learning aligned to the school improvement plan and district strategic plan
Facilitate SLT and staff collaboration to build leadership capacity and foster collective ownership
Oversee and ensure the effective implementation of a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) to meet diverse student needs
School Culture and Student Support
Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive school climate that supports the whole student
Promote consistent implementation of positive behavioral expectations and discipline practices
Encourage student voice, leadership, and participation in shaping school culture and decision-making
Organizational Management
Develop and manage school budgets in alignment with district policies and procedures
Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations and school board policies
Oversee daily school operations, including safety procedures, building maintenance, and resource allocation
Family and Community Engagement
Serve as the liaison between the school and its broader community
Build strong, positive partnerships with families and community organizations
Communicate consistently and transparently with all stakeholders
Other Duties
Participate in district-level leadership activities and meetings, as needed
Remain current with educational research, trends, and professional best practices
Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the Superintendent

Frequent walking, standing, and sitting
Occasional bending, lifting (up to 40 lbs.), reaching, and climbing stairs
Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with multiple demands
Work Environment:
Routine exposure to the weather, including seasonal heat and cold
May encounter frequent loud noises (e.g., in hallways, assemblies, events)
Evaluation:
Performance will be evaluated annually by the Superintendent in accordance with the Board
Policy and Oregon Educational Leadership Standards.
