The Santiam Canyon School District is seeking an education leader to serve as Student Services Director starting August 1, 2025. The position is for a part-time administrative position, at a negotiable .6 - .8 FTE. The schedule for this position is flexible. If mutually agreed upon, the new Director would be welcomed to come in early to support a smooth transition over the summer. This position is part time, but would be eligible for health benefits and administrative salary.

Santiam Canyon School District is comprised of (1) elementary school, (1) junior/senior high school (1) preschool and (1) online charter school

Qualifications:

A current Oregon Professional Administrative License or eligible to obtain one by July 1, 2025
Demonstrated success as an educational leader with a minimum 5 years of education experience preferred
Master Degree, with a preferred emphasis in administration

Position Overview:

The Student Services Director is a critical leadership position within Santiam Canyon School District. This individual will oversee and manage all special education services, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local policies. The Director will work collaboratively with administrators, teachers, staff, and families to provide a comprehensive and inclusive educational experience for students with special needs. This position will also oversee several other student support programs.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead, develop, and manage special education and 504 programs and services district-wide.
Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal special education regulations and guidelines.
Manage and coordinate state and federal reporting for student service programs.
Collaborate with administrators, teachers, and staff to create and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and related support services.
Monitor and assess the effectiveness of special education programs, making recommendations for improvements as needed.
Provide professional development and support to educators working with students with special needs.
Communicate with parents, guardians, and community members regarding special programs and services.
Supervise and evaluate special education staff, including teachers and support personnel.
Manage budgets and resources related to special programs and coordinated transportation.
Serve as a liaison between the school district and external agencies, fostering effective collaboration and support for students.
Oversee McKinney Vento and Foster Care programs and supports for families.
And the potential to oversee other support programs, negotiable based upon the candidate’s skills and background and FTE
