Qualifications
Possess a strong understanding of the needs of students and the ability to work effectively with them
Eligible for lawful employment in the United States
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing circumstances
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively with students and colleagues
In order to be considered for a Substitute Educator position, you must hold an active Oregon Teaching License issued from TSPC or the ability to obtain one, and you must submit your application to the current Certified Substitute job posting.

Benefits
- Daily Rate of Pay: $238.41 for a full day of work ($31.79/hr)

- Extended Rate: When working 10+ days in an assignment, substitute educators will be eligible for an extended rate of daily pay of $243.60 for full days ($32.48/hr).

Job description
Overview:

Certified Substitute Educators are valued members of the Rainier School District community who play an integral role in supporting the students and school community every day. Working as a Substitute Educator with RSD requires a high level of flexibility and adaptability, as Substitute Educators are eligible to work throughout the district in any school, any subject, and any grade level. Substitute educators work a flexible schedule on an as-needed basis, and have the ability to assign themselves to jobs via the Absence Management system.

• Fill in for certified employees who are absent for various reasons
• Work in different assignments and school locations with various duties as assigned
• Possess flexibility and willingness to adapt to changing circumstances
• Possess a strong understanding of the needs of students and the ability to work effectively with them
