Coburg Community Charter School is looking for an enthusiastic and student centered teacher to join our school community. CCCS is a small charter school with 1 class of 25 students per grade level, grades K-8. We are looking for someone who values and supports our ‘people first’ approach to developing and sustaining a comprehensive education program that does great things for kids.
This is a special teaching position that can be adjusted to suit the skills set of the best candidate. While a certified teacher is generally preferred, it is not necessarily required; CCCS does have the ability to support a Charter Registry License for someone with the skills and experience necessary to excel in the role.
This unique role provides the educator the unique opportunity to teach music and the arts, and well as science and technology. This is a new position for our school, so some adjustments will inevitably be made; our tentative schedule suggests that this teacher will teach music and art to K-5 students 2 days a week, science and technology to K-5 students another 2 days a week, a science/technology/engineering middle school elective to middle school students of the teacher’s design 4 days a week. We have students for a half day on Fridays and have yet to determine this role’s responsibilities on that day.
CCCS offers prospective educators a truly special school environment where the educators are empowered to teach, the families are involved and supportive of our staff, and our colleagues are intrinsically invested in keeping our school a great place to be. We recognize the value and importance of a work/school environment that is supportive and responsive to needs in the classroom, and as such our staff appreciates the freedom to “be a teacher” that is created here at CCCS.
This position offers the chance to really get to know the families and colleagues with whom we work, and be an integral part of a unique school community. As such, the perfect person for this critical role is someone who independently strives to make sure each child receives a top notch experience, and professionally enjoys the opportunities to wear some different hats around the school. Educators that thrive on and can leverage relational connections will do well here at CCCS.
This is a full time 1.0 FTE position. Anticipated starting salary for a TSPC certified teacher is $42,120 - $51,480 depending on experience and qualifications. Teaching staff requiring a Charter Registry start at a salary of $39,000. Full time positions include fully paid health insurance premiums, life insurance and full PERS contributions for the employee only, and a 186 days a year teacher calendar. We offer a robust mentoring program for new teachers, and a unique surplus sharing retention bonus for continuing employees.
Full background check and fingerprinting also required for those not already licensed in Oregon.
