Sisters School District is excited to welcome a new Permanent, Preschool Promise Educational Assistant to our team at Sisters Elementary School! This rewarding position offers 4–5 hours per day for 182 days each year, and prorated based upon start date. The regular schedule is Monday–Thursday, 8:00 a.m.–1:15 p.m., with Friday hours (4 hours per day) to be determined.
Position Summary: To support the preschool teacher with academics, student behaviors, record keeping and any other classroom management needed to help provide a strong foundation for the students’ growth in the classroom.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential duties of this position include the following. Employees in this position perform some or all of the following tasks. Other duties may be assigned.
• Assist the teacher in developing and implementing the preschool curriculum and classroom activities.
• Build strong, positive relationships with students to foster a focused, supportive learning environment.
• Support classroom management by reinforcing expectations, addressing behavior issues, and implementing behavior plans as needed.
• Supervise children during classroom activities, transitions, recess, meal/snack times, and other school-related activities, ensuring safety, well-being, and emotional regulation at all times.
• Support individual and small-group instruction to reinforce learning concepts and accommodate diverse student needs.
• Assist students with self-care needs such as toileting, handwashing, dressing, and eating when appropriate.
• Maintain effective communication with teachers, students, and other staff while demonstrating respect for a diverse range of people and backgrounds.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe learning environment; ensure materials and equipment are age-appropriate and sanitized.
• Uphold confidentiality regarding student information and school policies.
• Follow all district safety procedures and child supervision protocols.
• Attend all in-service trainings as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the teacher or supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Associate's Degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Submission of professional application materials.
• Reliable transportation for moving between school sites throughout the workday.

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to talk and hear. Employee is required to walk, sit, use hands for fine manipulation, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. Frequently required to stand and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance and peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Hourly wage range: $17.29 - $26.94 per hour, based upon prior work experience and education. Excellent prorated benefits package and Employer-paid PERS when eligible.
