2026-27 Assistant Superintendent

The Assistant Superintendent provides districtwide leadership in human resources, labor relations, personnel management, and administrative support services. This role works closely with district administrators, staff, employee associations, and community partners to recruit, develop, support, and retain high-quality employees while ensuring compliance with state and federal requirements.

We are requesting that this position begin July 1, 2026, or earlier.

Key Responsibilities
Provide leadership and oversight for district personnel functions, including recruitment, hiring, evaluation, assignment, transfer, and separation of licensed and classified staff
Coordinate and manage labor relations, collective bargaining agreements, memorandums of understanding, and contract updates
Supervise and support administrators, including mentoring and evaluating building administrators as assigned
Ensure staff assignments align with licensure requirements and maintain accurate personnel records
Oversee substitute management systems and personnel reporting required by law
Advise the Superintendent and Board on personnel matters, policy implementation, and administrative regulations
Facilitate policy team meetings and ensure compliance with OSBA updates and state and federal law
Assist with long-range planning for instruction, facilities, and district operations
Serve as a liaison with charter schools, community partners, and stakeholders
Represent the district at administrative, board, negotiation, and community meetings
Maintain high ethical standards, confidentiality, and professional integrity

Required Qualifications
Master’s degree
Minimum of five years of successful teaching experience
Valid Oregon District-Level Administrative License (educational administration preferred)
Experience in school or district administration
Strong knowledge of personnel administration, including recruitment, evaluation, licensure, and employee records management
Experience with or working knowledge of labor relations and collective bargaining agreements
