Professional Qualifications for the Next Superintendent
• Leadership Capacity and Experience: Direct experience within or alongside an ESD, preferably as a superintendent or administrator, with a deep understanding of the complexities involved in managing an organization and serving as a servant leader in the region.
• Strong Business Acumen: Expertise in school finance, budgeting, and human resource management, with emphasis on Oregon-specific policies and practices.
• Visionary and Adaptable Leadership: Proven ability to build organizational capacity within the ESD and address the challenges faced by the 10 districts in the South Coast region.
• Collaborative Partnership Building: Demonstrated ability to foster strong partnerships with districts, staff, and community partners, working together to build a brighter future for the South Coast.
• Special Education and Rural Education Knowledge: Commitment to improving student outcomes and strengthening service delivery, with a thorough understanding of special education laws and the unique needs of rural education.
• Transparency and Accountability: Dedication to open communication, transparency, and accountability in all aspects of leadership.
