Amity School District 4-J is seeking qualified applicants for the High School Personal Finance / Higher Education - Career Path Skills teacher. This position may include teaching 1-2 beginning high school math classes. Amity School District is on a 4-day school week, which has provided staff with many professional development opportunities.

Essential Functions
Meets the standards of Competent and Ethical Performance as outlined in Oregon Administrative Rules (OAR 584-020-000 through 584-020-0045). The following examples illustrate principal duties of the position; not all duties listed may be assigned to every position.
The applicant must:
1. Hold a valid Oregon Teaching License with a proper endorsement.
2. Have the ability to provide materials and lessons consistent with student grade levels, individual needs and the District Curriculum Guide.
3. Works effectively and respectfully with students, staff, families, and community members from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.
4. Have the ability to establish criteria both in skills and knowledge acquisition for awarding grades.
5. Possess strong skills for use of current educational technology and a high aptitude for mastering new technology applications. This includes computers and software, SMART boards and document cameras.
6. Cultivate and model a respectful, inclusive, and safe working and learning environment.
7. Implements effective, proactive classroom and school-wide behavior management practices.
8. Attends and participates in Student Services Team meetings, IEP meetings, and Educational Support Services staff meetings.
9. Maintains ongoing communication with parents/guardians, staff, and relevant service providers regarding student progress, programming, and support needs.
10. Engages in ongoing professional learning to maintain and improve professional competence.
11. Performs other duties as assigned by the Principal.

Salary: Placement on the Amity School District Teaching Salary Schedule
