The office of the governor is leading the way and seeking two Education Policy Advisors who will help shape a bright and opportunistic future for Oregon’s youth.

What you will do!
As our Education Policy Advisor you will play a critical role in informing the Governor on key policy initiatives and crafting policy that will strategically support Oregon’s education system. Distinct to your role will be to ensure agencies, boards and commissions support and implement the Governor’s agenda. You will also have the opportunity to:
Craft and implement education policy initiatives supporting Oregon’s K-12, early learning and higher education systems.
Identify and recommend highly qualified and diverse talent for appointments to education agencies and associated boards and commissions.
Serve as the Governor’s principal representative between regional efforts in articulating and implementing the Governor’s education policies.
Collaborate with the legislative director and provide testimony to support the passage of legislation that supports the Governor’s policies and priorities.
Provide feedback to education agencies regarding budgets and legislative priorities and offer direction on budget and legislative concepts that align with the Governor’s Recommended Budget.

What are we looking for?
Proven expert in education policy.
Clear understanding of Oregon state government structure and procedures.
Ability to clearly articulate the Governor’s policy position to promote understanding and support.
Seasoned professional in navigating conflict, lead dispute resolution and foster collaboration among diverse groups and individuals.
