TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 190 day Probationary Contract for the 2019-20 school year
POSITION SUMMARY: This position supports two Career and Technical Education Pathway Programs - Manufacturing Technology and Construction Technology. We are looking for a candidate with the following knowledge and experience:
A variety of metal fabrication, woodworking and carpentry projects
Understands the safety and instructional needs for teaching in a very active “hands-on” shop-based environment with students at varying levels of experience
Understands the need for these courses in teaching valuable employability skills, both professional and technical
Works collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Works well with community partners
Helps to manage a career technical organization (CTSO) like SkillsUSA, FBLA or FFA
Knowledge of industry standards related to metal fabrication and construction
Manages a budget, orders supplies and materials, and coordinates donations of same
QUALIFICATIONS:
License from Teacher Standards & Practices Commission with CTE endorsement
Integration of technology in the learning process
Documented recommendations on the following:
Holds high expectation for student learning
Highly motivated to continue professional growth
Exceptional communication skills
Interactive and inclusive with staff, students, parents and patrons
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Proficiency based teaching experience
Experience with standards based assessment strategies and reporting methods
Clear understanding of the Common Core State Standards and the instructional shifts they require
Clear understanding that working with industry to strengthen career technical programs is critical to preparing students to enter the workforce before, after, or without college
Research based instructional strategies
Bilingual communication skills preferred
Culturally Responsive teaching practices
Ability to differentiate instruction based on students needs and abilities
