OASSA Awards

OASSA sponsors three awards each year – the Assistant Principal of the Year, Middle School Principal of the Year, and High School Principal of the Year.  For members wishing to nominate a colleague, please follow the guidelines below:

Middle and High School Principal of the Year (POY)

The process for this award begins in January.  The award is given to one middle school and one high school principal each year.  The nominee must be an active middle or high school principal, and a current member of COSA and OASSA.

  • To access the criteria, procedure, timeline, CLICK HERE.  
  • Complete the form below and upload by 11:59 pm on Thursday, March 7, 2024
  • The OASSA Executive Committee will select the Oregon recipient.  That person will then complete an additional online application with NASSP.
  • The Oregon recipient will be honored at the Annual COSA Conference in June and the OASSA Principal’s Conference in October.

Assistant Principal of the Year (APOY)

The process for this award begins in September.  The nominee must be an active assistant (or vice) principal, and a current member of NASSP and OASSA.

  • To access the criteria, procedure, timeline, CLICK HERE.
  • Complete the form below and upload by 11:59pm on Tuesday, October 17, 2023.
  • The OASSA Executive Committee will select the recipient. If selected as the Oregon recipient, an online application and additional references will be needed.   The completed packet will then be submitted to NASSP by December 15th. 
  • The recipient will be honored at the OASSA Principals' Conference in October and the Annual COSA Conference June.
